One Week

The little Miss hit her week mark on wednesday, so to commemorate the occasion we took pictures. (And by we, i mean my mom...blog doula AND photographer). I'm so in love with this baby.
We also took some family pictures (on one of the rare occasions that i did my hair and make-up). Its so crazy that we're now a family of three. Aaron went back to work today which was really sad. I'm going to miss having him around all the time, and i'm definitely going to miss his help.
Today i was feeling adventurous and decided that it would be fun to go to target with my mom. Getting ready and out the door was quite the production, but we made it. I only lasted about 10 minutes in the store walking around before i was ready to go home. But, it was nice to get outside the apartment for a little bit. Despite sleeping through the entire outing, I think Gracie had a fabulous time.

Oh she is SOO cute! I'm so glad you are doing well and you were able to get her here safely. Some post you said you are thinking it was easier than you thought and I thought the exact thing. Besides being super tired I felt like I didn't know what to do since all they do is sleep and eat and I just watched TV, haha. I wasn't sure if that is what moms did, ha. Dave and I decided that we actually had to be parents around the age of 1. That is when you have to teach them right from wrong and we had to talk to each other more about disciplining and making sure we were on the same page and doing the same thing. Keep the pictures coming! I love that your mom updates your blog, she did an amazing job for the delivery, I never would have thought of updating through that and there is no way Dave or my mom could do that :)

One of the best things about having a summer/early fall baby (and that is assuming you live some place where the heat isn't melting the tires on your car, cough cough - Phoenix) is being able to get out of the house when the baby is still brand new and you are going stir crazy having not seen the sun in 7 days. A winter baby is a whole different story, unless of course you live in Phoenix. {Note to self: only have winter babies here.} Then again, who am I kidding. You live in California. Great weather year round.

PS - I can't get over how TINY she is in that car seat. So cute.

Kara, how come you look so gorgeous still? You've just had a baby!! You really do look beautiful, more than ever with sweet little Gracie in your arms.

Way to go to make it out of the house. It's rough getting over all this, isn't it? Can you believe how exhausted you feel just putting in a batch of laundry or walking for too long? I'm glad you've got such a good support team so you can rest.

And oh my goodness, she is beautiful. Gracie Kate, you're only a week old and already your momma is going to have to wave away the baby boys. Keep being good to Mommy and sleep a LOT. Kara and Aaron, congratulations. I'm so excited for you!

Isn't it just amazing how much you can love something. I myself was blown away.

Can't wait to meet little Gracie next week! And good for you for getting out of the house. The more you do it the easier it gets.

I think our first outing was to Target too. We were there for a really short time and I remember getting home and feeling like I was exhausted from running errands...then I realized we just went to target for like 10 minutes and got embarrassed! I hope Gracie is letting you sleep, do your inlaws come in today? I need to call you. You look GREAT!!!!!

Two things. First, that first picture makes me think of you sleeping back in the David John days. Remember that? When Leandra was your alarm clock? Ha.
Second, you are beautiful, seriously. You are so photgenic. You passed it on to the babe as well.
