Escape Artist

I was getting things done around our apartment and Grace had grown bored with playing on her play mat. I put in her in her recliner and made sure that I strapped her in. I didn't want a repeat of this:
About 35 seconds after strapping Grace in I checked on her and found her like this:
I'm starting to think that getting her to stay in that chair is impossible. Thank goodness for the safety strap though.
Despite being inches from face planting into the floor and having her legs tangled in her chair, Grace didn't seem too phased
This child is going to be the death of me

The Birthday Celebration...

...was a success!
Instead of a dinner out, Aaron requested some good ol' dutch oven cookin'. The Sagers were happy to oblige (and surprise Aaron with balloons and streamers). What great friends we have.
The Birthday Boy
Kyle and I celebrated by being matchy matchy.
(remind me to NEVER make that face ever again.)
Thank you to the Sagers and the Tolleys for a fantastic night.

Again, Happy Birthday babe!

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day:

The Decorations were set and all parties involved were excited
We dug into the loot that Mema and Poppy sent
We enjoyed ourselves
And Aaron was ecstatic that he got 2 containers of cinnamon Jelly Bellys. (Best wife ever? I think so.)
We had a crepe breakfast, and our traditional salmon and steak dinner.

Overall the Holiday was a success.

Don't you just love, love?

Stormy Weather

While I was running this morning I thought it was odd that I could run without needing gloves or a hat at 7am in February. Meanwhile, my family living in Northern Virginia is practically trapped inside their house due to all of the snow storms that have hit the area. Coastal differences? I think so.

My mom has been keeping me updated with pictures and weather reports for the area. I was so surprised by some of the pictures I felt the need to share them

This is a main road by our house with my sister standing in the middle of the intersection. People in Virginia basically shut down when there is snow. With the amount that they're getting now, they should be out for weeks :)
My cute parents.
Apparently, the outdoor table made its very own snow cave. Look at the amount of snow piled up.

There is another storm warning for the area with a possible accumulation of 10 to 20 inches. I'm currently sending warm California thoughts to the East Coast... maybe you should too.

5 Months

Grace is 5 months now, and I think she is pretty excited about it
Here's a recap of what Grace is like these days:

She is the most wiggly baby on the planet. Constantly kicking her feet and moving around. Constantly.
She is the anti-snuggler. No matter how tired she is she refuses to cuddle and snuggle (believe me, I've tried). She would rather arch her back (my least favorite development) or turn her head side to side 4,000 times.

The thing that I love the most is that when you talk to her she reaches out to touch your face. She looks at you while she pats your cheeks with her hands. It makes me melt every time.
When she is happy she squeals at a pitch that might make your ears bleed.

She is still happy, smiley, and easy going.
We went to the doctor on the 2nd so we were able to get some stats:

Weight: 13.7-- 25th percentile
Height 25.5 inches-- 70th percentile

I showed my doctor the picture of Grace's rash after eating milk based formula and it turns out that she DOES have an allergy. I now have to cut diary out of my diet. Sad Face. (Heather G, please help me on this one). At least it all makes sense now.

Happy 5 months Grace!

What Has Happened?

What has happened to my tiny baby? The one that would cuddle on my chest instead of wiggle away. The one that was relatively clean instead of covered in rice cereal. The one that barely fit into her bumbo instead of trying to escape from it.

Grace looks so big now. The time has definitely gone by faster than I was expecting. Has it already been 5 months?

(Lets be honest though, I definitely don't miss the scraggly hair.)

Baby Beau

I got the opportunity to go visit this little man a few days ago.
It was Grace's first time meeting Beau, so pictures were in order.
And maybe there was a little hand holding. A foreshadowing of the future? Only time will tell.
