****Editor's Note*****

Kara is awake. She's at a 7. The baby is doing great.

Okay, this experience is so NOT what I expected. Kara's sisters' labors were 5 and a half hours, 3 and a half hours, 6 hours and 1 hour. Mine were 6 hours, 2 hours, 45 minutes and 2 hours. I thought FOR SURE Kara would follow suit and have had the baby by now. The tip off should have been the fact that her pregnancy was different from the start. She never had morning sickness. Perhaps she negotiated feeling good at the beginning for a long labor at the end. Anyway, the nurse says she thinks this will happen by 7:30 (2 1/2 hours). We'll see. Kara still has to deal with that pesky pushing.

Taylor (1 hour), Carly (6 hours), Emma (3 1/2 hours), Brooklyn (5 1/2 hours)

Ashby (6 hours), Stacey (2 hours), Matt (45 minutes), Kara (2 hours)

holy smokes, you had a 45 minute labor??? lucky dog! well, except for the fact that it probably meant no drugs...poor thing.

induction is probably a big factor in her longer labor, but hey, at least she has the sweet liquid flowing into her veins.

good thing i have had nothing else to do today...this is keeping me highly entertained.

ps. ms. kara's mom- i like you. do you want to hang out while kara is laid up?? ;)

Mom- you failed to mention that your 45min labor included giving birth in the hallway of the hospital by a pyschiatric resident!
Thanks for the updates!
Give Kara our love.

I am loving all the input. Right when I got home from school, I ran to the computer to see the updates. It looks like all is going well, except for the fact that your labor is taking awhile :)

Kara, keep going! You are almost there!!! Good Luck to the whole bunch of you!!!

That was really fun to list the kids by length of labor. Gracie will be the big winner of that contest. Maybe she will be born on her due date. It's amazing you remember those details. So much for that foolish notion by male doctors that you forget all about childbirth when it is over.
