Today I showered, did my make-up, got dressed, and blew my hair dry (which has become a rarity these days). Half way through straightening my hair my straightener stopped working. I ran around frantically looking for another outlet (thinking that was the problem). My hair was half way done, straight on the bottom frizz-frozz on the top. But the red light wouldn't come on. I had to be frumpalicious for the rest of the day.
I found solace in this
and in a hair tie.
Goodbye Chi flat iron... we had a good 5 years together.

Kara, this happened to me recently, I was convinced it was the plug but I finally figured out that if I hold the cord up a little while I am straightening, then it receives power again...or maybe I should cut the crap and just get a new one. Hah, why didn't we hang out today? I was wondering that about halfway through my day...next thursday????
I thought those Chi's had a lifetime warranty?
If you problems can be fixed with a Dr. Pepper and a hair tie, life is bliss..
oh no!! I dread the day that happens to me. My sisters all have Chi's and I have an Infrashine, which I LOVE! All three of the sister's straighteners have had problems and my little guy is holding out! I would TOTALLY recommend investing in that if you aren't covered by warranty and decide to try Round 2. They look identical and function the same but I just like little things about mine better and they retail almost exactly the same. GOOD LUCK! I will shed a tear for you. (Honestly I should just send mine because goodness knows that I do NOT get ready anymore, let along do my hair!)
Sad day! You definitely deserved a Diet Dr. Pepper, and maybe a trip to see me?
Oh dear, you Chi died? I've seen them at Nordstrom Rack for cheaper.
oh man, this happened to me two weeks ago. don't give up on it yet. it is probably the cord right next to the plug. wiggle it around, and try wrapping it around the plug really tight. i can still get it to work long enough to quickly straighten!
Run to Costco and get their Chi for $60!! You can't beat getting one for that price. You could stock up.
Bummer dude. I hate it when that happens. One time, my hairdryer went out (it actually caught on fire...kind of a disaster) and I went for three solid week just air drying my hair at night, and sleeping on half wet hair and having some major awesome cowlicks(sp?) in the morning. It was not awesome. I finally broke down and bought a new ($15--I swear the cheap blowdryers work the best--although they fry your hair in the process) one. I HATE having to spend money on that kind of stuff. It's like bra shopping. Completely un-fun, yet totally necessary. Besides, you pull off a pony tail like a pro, anyway.
that is unheard of?! Chi's dying?! You should call the companY!!!
Go with the Babyliss. It's amazing!
