Wayne was a military veteran (air force) so he had an official military burial with a gun salute and everything. Aaron said it was a really cool thing to see.

It was a little cold outside so Gracie stayed inside and maybe flirted a little with Kaleb.
Until her favorite person Melanie ventured inside.
I'm still full from it, but i can't wait until the next cookout.

The first shot didn't seem to phase her. But once the second one hit- she cried so hard only dogs could hear her. She probably didn't even realize the third one had been given because she was still pissed about the second one. I told myself that i wouldn't cry when she got her shots. But when her cry went into the sonar range, i couldn't help it and my eyes got all watery. Thankfully Aaron was there to hold me while they finished her shots. She has had a bit of a rough day, but nothing a little tylenol and some extra love couldn't solve.
At first i thought that it suddenly became dry and my lips were reacting to the dry weather. So i slathered on the Burt's Bees and hoped for the best. It only got worse. Two days of swollen painful lips got me thinking that this wasn't your ordinary dry weather. In desperation (kind of) i turned to the internet. After doing some research i learned that the symptoms i was having were the same symptoms you get when you are having an allergic reaction to lip products. I also learned that some people can develop allergies and sensitivity to Burt's Bees chapstick if they use it often, which is me. It all adds up. I bought a new tube of Burt's Bees chapstick and later that day my lips started to react. So what i thought was dry weather was actually an allergic reaction. Every time I put more chapstick on to help the pain, it only made it worse. Now i look like i've had collagen injections and my lips are now the same color as my skin. Sad.

I love Gracie's halloween outfit she would have worn it all day...
but this happened when we got home...
I wanted to go to a pumpkin patch with Aaron and Gracie, solely to take pictures. To be honest i didn't even want a pumpkin. There was a pumpkin patch just down the street from us so we headed over there. You had to pay money just to get into the pumpkin patch. What? Just because there was an inflatable tiger slide thing they wanted me to pay to go into the pumpkin patch. I decided to nix that idea. We headed over to the grocery store and all their pumpkins were gone. Finally we went to OSH (which is a hardware type store like Lowe's) and there was one pumpkin sitting outside. We went in and asked if they were selling it. The manager looked kind of confused and said that we could just have it. Take that stupid pumpkin patch. I got a free pumpkin. Granted, i'm pretty sure the pumpkin stem was growing mold, but it served its purpose. Here is our "pumpkin patch" picture.
We got Gracie decked out in her costume from her Grandee and Grandpa and headed over to our friends house.
We ate some eyeball minestrone with orange colored homemade bread and watched a scary movie.
We finished off the night with homemade donuts... they were fabulous.
It was a wonderful Halloween!
